Offset attitude. Serious guitar. Very nice blue.

With its classic offset shape, Metallic Blue finish and unmistakably vintage-inspired lines, this is the kind of guitar that makes you want to plug into an amp before you've even found the cable. It has the familiar silhouette of an old-school offset, but Foals have given the recipe a few modern ingredients.

The body is lightweight North American Alder, paired with a Canadian maple neck and Indian rosewood fingerboard. The neck has a comfortable Standard C profile, a 9.5" radius and a 25.5" scale — familiar territory for anyone who likes a guitar that feels at home whether you're bashing out chords or disappearing down the dusty end of the neck.

Then come the pickups.

Foals use their proprietary Alnico II No.2 pickups, wound with German-made copper wire. They're designed around a lower-output, vintage-flavoured response, which is exactly what you want from an offset like this: articulate cleans, plenty of jangle and sparkle, and enough growl when you start pushing the amplifier.

And there's more going on electronically than the vintage looks might suggest. The FJM features a Lead circuit with master Volume, Tone and 3-way switching, plus an independent Rhythm circuit for the neck pickup with its own Volume and Tone controls. In other words, you can set up two distinct flavours and jump between them without tap dancing on your pedals.

The bridge is Foals' F3 system, using brass saddles on a nickel-plated stainless-steel baseplate, while the vintage-style locking tuners are there to keep things where you put them.

But let's be honest: a large part of the appeal is that Metallic Blue.
