Affordable Euro-vintage… now with extra mwah.
This 1974 S-380 J-bass fretless is where things get slippery—in the best possible way. Same old-school bones, same ‘70s attitude, but with that smooth, singing voice that only a fretless can deliver. Think upright soul meets electric swagger.
Neck’s straight, fingerboard’s ready, and the condition is impressively clean for a bass that’s been gliding between notes since bell bottoms were still a fashion choice (…again). It’s got that broken-in feel that makes you play better than you probably deserve.
Tone-wise? Warm, woody, and expressive. Dial in that classic “mwah” and suddenly you’re not just playing notes—you’re negotiating with them. Jazz runs, fusion lines, ambient soundscapes, or just showing off a little—it’s all fair game here.
Same affordable vintage charm, just with fewer frets and way more personality. Slide into it.
(Fun fact: Jaco recorded his Broadway Blues album with this fretless Framus! He didn't use his Fender "bass of doom" because he arrived in Germany without an instrument. And this one happened to be available in the studio in Stuttgard.)
