Guild's Starfire IV was a very familiar sight in the sixties : from the snotty garage rock power chords of the Kinks to Buddy Guy's high energy Chicago Blues, it was hard to miss on TV shows, record sleeves and stages from divey clubs to concert halls.
This guitar is an update of Guild's Starfire IV that still manages to stay very faithful to the original. Where the original incarnation had Guild's floating "harp" tailpiece, this guitar has a more modern and solid stop bar tailpiece. Not only does this provide more sustain and bit, it also helps to keep the tuning rock solid and high volume feedback at a minimum.
An extremely versatile guitar, this laminated maple center-block semihollowbody can tackle almost any style you throw at it, from kerrangy britpop to power chord rock, sweet and stingy Blues, fusion, Jazz, pop or even funk.
