Headstrong's Santa Cruz amp is the perfect solution for the guitarist who's looking for tube dynamics and drive that's firmly in the blackface/brownface Fender camp, but at a lower volume.
The amp has a 5 Watt output section – not whisper-quiet, but certainly NOT annoyingly loud, even when cranked. Perfect for recording, home, or sidemen playing electric in mostly acoustic ensembles or drummer-less bands.
Don't let the 5W power rating fool you into thinking this is a practice amp or a toy – Headstrong puts exactly the same high handbuilt standard and quality components in these as they put in their larger, louder models.. This amp was purposely built for those situations where higher volume is annoying and not a bonus – you can leave your overdrive pedals or power soaks at home with this amp and bask in the glory of a beautiful tube amp's dynamics and overdrive characteristics, only without the high decibels or complaining sound men.
