/ MXR x Third Man Double Down

The MXR Double Down (CSP042) is a guitar pedal that splits a single guitar signal into two separate outputs and provides each signal with its own independent volume boost.

The pedal was developed in collaboration with Third Man Hardware (musician Jack White’s label).

What exactly does the pedal do?

– Signal splitting (Mono to Stereo): You plug a single guitar into the input. The pedal internally splits this signal into two separate outputs. This is ideal for driving two different amplifiers simultaneously (a dual-amp setup). Dual MXR Micro Amp Booster: The pedal contains two identical, legendary MXR Micro Amp circuits. Using two separate knobs, you can independently boost each of the two outputs by up to +26 dB of extra volume or gain (overdrive).

– Phase Switch: There’s a switch on the side that lets you reverse the phase of the second channel. This prevents the two amplifiers from “canceling out” each other’s sound (phase cancellation), resulting in a massive and wide stereo sound.

– Buffer Switch: You can choose between “True Bypass” or a buffered signal. The buffer ensures that your guitar signal remains clear, even when using long cables to your amplifiers.
